Hello world, we are Team #33535 Thunderstrike, and we build robots with love and thunder. 2026 is our rookie year.
We named our team after the legendary AC/DC track “Thunderstruck” because FTC hits you first like lightning, then like thunder.
We are a team of five students, aged 12 to 17, from different schools across the Lisbon area. What brings us together is a shared passion for STEM and innovation. FTC gives us the perfect arena to turn that passion into something real.
Our first robot is called Fortunate Son, named after the rock classic by Creedence Clearwater Revival. It is a simple, streamlined design that we keep pushing closer to its physical limits with every new iteration.
We are the first, and currently the only active, FTC team in Portugal and we’re on a mission is to change that.
To help launch FTC locally, we are organizing the first-ever FTC event in Portugal: the Lisbon Scrimmage, taking place on July 18, 2026, at TagusPark, Lisbon. We are recreating the full official event experience, including live scoring, live streaming, judging sessions, robot inspections, and a live audience.
We want this to be more than a single event. We want it to be the spark that helps create new Portuguese teams, inspires schools and families, and marks a defining moment in bringing FIRST to Portugal.
We are inviting FTC teams from everywhere to join us. This is more than one more chance to compete before the season ends. It is a chance to help launch FIRST in a new country. Be a part of it.
