We are the OG Cyclones, a passionate FTC robotics team based in Charleston, South Carolina, USA. Our team is a blend of 8th and 10th graders who operate like a family—small, tight‑knit, and fiercely dedicated to supporting one another. Every member plays a vital role in our success, and that collaborative spirit is at the heart of who we are.
As one of three competitive FTC teams at our school, we’re proud to be heading into only our third season with big ambitions. We began the year programming in Blocks, but as our robot grew more advanced—especially with the addition of dual cameras for autonomous and tele‑op—we made the leap to Java mid‑season. It was a challenge, but embracing challenges is kind of our thing.
Our robot features several custom 3D‑printed components designed to maximize efficiency and reliability. We even print backup parts to keep ourselves competition‑ready at all times. Advancing beyond our regional event as a third‑year team has been an incredible milestone, and we’re thrilled to bring our energy and creativity to the FTC Premier event in Eindhoven.

Memorable Moments from the Season

“At qualifiers, a bunch of OG robotics kids started racing each other through the school and down the roads. Watching them laugh, run, and just enjoy being together like a big family always brings a smile to my face when I think about it.”

“Finding out we advanced—alongside our sister team, the OG Hurricanes—was unforgettable. We were all holding hands, hoping our names would be called. When they were, we jumped up, clapping and hugging each other. That moment made me realize how much robotics connects us. We’re truly a family.”
