Team 19091 – The Resistance’s journey to Eindhoven
We are “The Resistance”, Team 19091 from Mediaș, Romania. Our story began in September 2019, when our physics teacher, the mentor of Team 17875 Code Warriors, proposed creating a 2nd team at our high school, giving more students the chance to design and build a robot of their own. Season by season, our results have grown — from winning our first league meet, to the Inspire Award at regionals, to the playoffs stage at nationals, and finally to qualifying for our first international event: the European Premier Event in Eindhoven.
We come from Mediaș, a small medieval town in the heart of Transylvania, known for its leaning church tower, cobblestone streets, and for being the natural gas hub of Romania. Our local community has been very supportive of us, and we are proud to bring a piece of it to Eindhoven.
Our community is defined by three generations working as one: current members, alumni, and mentors all pulling in the same direction. We believe that passing knowledge between generations is the spirit of FIRST and a recipe for success. Above all, we are committed to ensuring that future generations also get the same opportunity we did. The Resistance is not just a team, it is a family, and we cannot wait to be part of the European Premier Event.
